Musing: games - Final Fantasy III, gay undertones?

So you have the four warriors of light: Luneth, Arc, Refia and Ingus.
And so far there have been several companions -- notably: Sara, Desch, Aria and Alus.

(There have been others -- I'm thinking of Cid, can't remember anyone else -- but ignore that for the purposes of this.)

Ingus was particularly attached to Sara, what with being given essentially free access to her room and weepy goodbyes and so on. Desch seemed most attached to Refia. Luneth got really really upset about what happened to Aria. And now Arc's getting all touchy-feely with Alus (Refia: "What's up with Arc? Why is he so eager to help this prince?").

So, call that all romance, and what do we have? Semi-canonical gayness. And I'm going to put Arc/Alus on the to do list.

Note: Of course, all this can equally be put down to friendship. But I'm a slasher at heart.

I've started tearing my way through it somehow. xD I've done all the bits since Desch in the Tower of Owen a bit yesterday and a bit today, whereas it took me ages to get up to the bit with Desch before that.

Okay, see, I'm not the only person that thinks this! The only thing is I think Alus is supposed to be like 10....? I haven't seen that in the game, but if you look at his amano art you'll notice he's a kid. So that just confuses me.

Well, I'm mostly thinking it light heartedly, but hmmm. I might have to try and find out how old Alus is supposed to be.

Before you meet Alus, if you talk to the guy who's looking for him he says "Kind sirs... and miss, have you seen a well-clad boy around the age of ten in this vicinity?"

(I couldn't stop thinking of them together after seeing the opening sequence... I mean, first they have a possioneted argument, then ingus rescues luther and looks at him with that smile... there is also the scene where refia heals ingus and luther gives them that look, is he jaolous? lol. well, might be all just my imagination, but isn't it suspictious? *snickers*)
anyway, I haven't see the 'gayness' between arc and alus, before you mentioned it. lol
