Fandom: Firefly
For: Wooden Horses chapter three
Quality: Briefly checked
Characters: Mal, Simon
Mal knocked, first. He'd sort of learnt his lesson. Besides, it'd be somehow more embarrassing to catch Simon... doing something than it would be to catch Kaylee half-dressed or somesuch. Something about how Simon was normally so buttoned up. Not that he thought much about Simon masturbating -- not that he could imagine it ever happening, somehow. Not that he tried to imagine it, either, of course.
"Yes?"
Simon didn't sound at all sleepy. Or annoyed. Just... bored. Mal slid the door open a little to see Simon sitting there, fully dressed, a book in his hands. He was restlessly flicking the pages, but didn't seem to be reading. "You don't look like you're doing too good a job of this relaxin' stuff," Mal said, smiling a bit. Simon smiled back just a touch.
"No, not really."
"Reckon it's a bit lonely around here. Come up to the gallery with me, we'll have a drink."
"Is that wise?"
"Probably not. How d'you mean?"
"Well, for one thing, we might need to fight in a few hours. For another, Kaylee's latest batch was a bit... caustic, last I noticed."
"I figure we could both do with a drink anyway."
Simon smiled a bit more. "Probably."
