Requests - Pornathon

So, it seems there's a strike going on, starting at midnight GMT. Here, if you want to take a look, with an addendum here. I'm not going to be observing the strike. I feel too ambivalent about it to feel right joining in. In fact, this post rang more of a bell with me.

So I'm not shutting up. I don't mean to undermine other people from fandom, but... all this drama isn't fun. Staying off LJ for a day wouldn't be fun, because I'm home a lot and LJ is one of the ways I amuse myself. But this is going to be fun.

Basically, request porn. Any fandom/pairing that I know -- Final Fantasy, Firefly, Good Omens, Phoenix Wright, The Dark Is Rising... anything. Preferably with a prompt/suggestion. It can be het, slash, femmeslash, threesomes, whatever you want. I'll respond with some porn. I won't post any porn actually in the comments here, I'll link to the post for it on edenbound. I won't write anything involving underage characters, because for me that isn't fun -- or at least, not as frivolous as I want this to be (it could be interesting, but it's not something I'd generally enjoy). If you don't post any requests, I'll have to think of stuff to write myself. XD

I'm only offering this for twenty-four hours, so I'm not making any promises, particularly as I have another request post I'm still trying to answer. But feel free to request as much as you like. :D

Feel free to copy my idea, though I'm not trying to be a leader or an innovator or a rebel. I'm just trying to have fun. :)

Review - Red Garden

I just finished watching Red Garden! I really, really recommend it. It's up on veoh, all 22 episodes, here.

It's hard to know how to talk about it. I loved that it was mostly character driven -- the action is a key part of the plot, but it's not the most important thing about the series, if that makes sense. I really, really got to care about all the characters, even more minor ones like Ewan and Emilio and Emma. I thought it started kind of slowly, and raised a lot of questions while not answering them fast enough, but that also made it intriguing.

I really loved the relationships, too. The four girls who aren't alike coming together. The good boys who just don't understand but stick around anyway. The creepy weird guy who is absolutely fixated on his sister. The girl who watches, unable to really do anything, but agonised anyway. The love confessions are brilliant.

I also loved the art. It's a bit more realistic than some anime -- noses and mouths wise, really. It's just really pretty, and a little bit different. (Of course, some people say it's different and ugly, so... down to personal taste I guess.)

I sniffled a lot. And grinned a lot. And squealed even more.
