*hugs* I haven't read this one, but I understand perfectly your concerns. It's the reason I haven't been able to bring myself to read the last nightrunner book even though I own it and was really looking forward to the release. The same thing with Lamb by Christopher Moore, its a farcical look at the life of Jesus and I got where I enjoyed the character so much I couldn't deal with knowing how it had to end.
