I didn't find it very scary, but then, I've been reading/watching a lot of horror lately. It would definitely have creeped me out when I was younger -- and there is a scary element in it for me when I think how possible it actually is, in some ways. Young misfit girl with a crazy mother? Happens. Humans having psychic power? Can't be discounted.
